Cross-Examination Workshop
NCDC CROSS-EXAMINATION WORKSHOP
March 20-23
University of Iowa College of Law
“I previously fought in court, as a competitor, never wanting to lose, and that drive remains, but it has changed. Now I fight as a soldier. I fight on the front lines, as I always have, against mistreatment, abuse, and all that is done in the name of justice, in violation of so many rights. But now I know what I am fighting for. Never have I felt such a connection to my clients.”
PROGRAM DETAILS
For decades, NCDC has presented short workshops that teach NCDC’s trial-tested cross-examination techniques.
In this four day workshop, you will perform cross-examination exercises in breakout sessions coached by NCDC’s amazing faculty with professional actors playing the roles of true-to-life witnesses.
All skill levels welcome. Each participant is assigned to a breakout group according to experience.
Groups from the same office are limited to 8 people max.
Workshop Content
Workshop topics include the three rules of cross-examination, witness control techniques, theory of the case, theory of the witness, chaptering strategies, headlining and transitions, impeachment, crossing incentivized witnesses, exposing biases and more.
The preferred hotel for this workshop is the Graduate Hotel Iowa City. The group room rate is $125 per night, plus taxes and includes a daily breakfast buffet. Attendees will receive information on how to book their hotel stay when they register or can use the following link.
