Biography

Sellano L. Simmons is the Managing Partner and CEO of The Law Firm of Sellano L. Simmons PLLC. Sellano Simmons is one of the most effective criminal defense attorneys in D.C. and Minnesota. Sellano has represented his clients effectively against a wide range of charges-from Simple Assault and DWI to unlawful use of a firearm, and homicide (second chair)-and has tried over 50 jury trials. Sellano has years of criminal defense experience.

Sellano loves representing individual client’s in employment discrimination matters through litigation in federal court, mediation, and trial. Sellano has successfully represented individuals against discriminatory conditions from their employers. Sellano has represented clients who have been denied a job or a promotion based on race and gender. Sellano has successfully represented clients in state and federal court against their employers. His experience includes police misconduct and infringement of civil liberties. The firm also represents victims of personal injury.

Sellano L. Simmons began his legal career as an associate with Dorsey and Whitney, LLP in its Minneapolis office. His practice ranged from ERISA litigation, white collar crimes and class action litigation. Sellano also worked for Target Corporation in the Employee Relations Group. Sellano was the 2010 Minnesota Hero for Children Award recipient presented by the Minnesota Children’s Law Center.
