Biography

During nearly 25 years working with the Missouri State Public Defender (MSPD), Laura O’Sullivan gained extensive trial, appellate, post-conviction, and management experience culminating in her role as Training Director for the system. In 2011 she became Professor O’Sullivan at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Law School where she taught Wrongful Convictions and investigated cases with students participating in the Wrongful Convictions Clinic. In 2016, Laura returned to her roots with MSPD where she works alongside great attorneys, serves as the Training Team Leader, and represents indigent people accused of crimes. Laura serves on the faculty of training programs across the nation including the faculty of the Trial Lawyers College training civil and criminal lawyers throughout the country.
