Biography

John Weber (Johnny) is an attorney with the Scialdone Law Firm in Gulfport, Mississippi, with a focus on complex litigation. Johnny represents clients in admiralty and maritime litigation, commercial and business litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and government investigations.

Prior to joining Scialdone Law, Johnny served as senior litigator and supervising attorney in charge of the Gulfport office of the Federal Public Defender, Southern District of Mississippi where he tried over 30 felony jury trials, including a number of high-profile cases, and obtained not guilty verdicts and dismissals for many of his clients. In that capacity, Johnny has argued several cases before the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and provided training and advice on sentencing and trial strategy to local federal criminal defense attorneys.

Johnny received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management Systems from Louisiana State University in December 1995 and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center in May 1999. In 2004, Johnny graduated from the National Criminal Defense College, the preeminent criminal defense training program in the United States.

Johnny commissioned as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy and began his legal career in Washington D.C. where he provided general legal advice to sailors, marines, and military retirees, represented injured sailors and marines before the Physical Evaluation Board at disability hearings and acted as defense counsel for military members accused of crimes in the military justice system. Johnny was selected to be the Officer in Charge of Naval Legal Service Office Central, Branch Office Gulfport, Mississippi. He lead an office of three JAG Officers, three enlisted personnel, and two civilians providing criminal defense, legal assistance, tax assistance and claims services. In addition, Johnny and his team provided mobilization and demobilization legal services to reservist in support of Operation Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Johnny continues to serve as a JAG in the Navy Reserves focusing on military criminal defense.
